According to them, the main problem faced nowadays is the usage of large horizontal areas for storage, which increases the time needed for the products transportation as well as the occupied room. “Today, in Brazil, the majority of entrepreneurs faces the need to invest a large sum to purchase modern equipment, and forgets the cost-benefit that it could offer”, they reckon.

They also believe that importing storage equipment tends to give the sector a boost due to its fast storage and retrieval times, safety, optimum use of storage space and easy handling, especially in the case of carousels, where the goods are brought to the operator and not vice-versa.

Santa Maria and Haimerl believe that both Brazilian and foreign companies can find their share in the expanding material handling and storage market, and that one should not neglect the space, time and money savings this equipment can represent.
